Heartthrob

Represented in North and South America

Jesse Siminski has been releasing music under the guise Heartthrob for a decade. He has worked with a slew of cutting edge labels through the years including Bpitch, Minus, Spectral Sounds, Hot Creations and Mute. In 2013 he launched his own outlet called ISNISNT.

Born in Northern Michigan, Jesse discovered dance music through a musician father and a relative who owned a record shop near Detroit. Prince, Kraftwerk and Laid Back were early touchstones to the electronic beat that would become so important to his music. Growing up in the 90’s Midwest introduced Jesse to the underground techno and house music radiating from Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis. Label’s like Relief, Plus 8 and Communique formed the backbone of his record collection and informed his sensibilities early on. With past stints in New York and Paris, Jesse currently calls Berlin home.

While living in New York, a chance encounter with Magda would lead to friendships with Troy Pierce, Richie Hawtin and Kevin McHugh. This foreshadowed the emergence of the minimal techno scene in New York and later around the world. Through his work with theMinus label, Jesse participated in a series of groundbreaking projects that included product development for technology giants Native Instruments, Ableton, Allen & Heath, Livid, Liine and Burn Studios.

Jesse has spent the last 8 years touring the globe, DJing and playing live in many of the top clubs in the world. His high-energy sets reach for music from across the electronic landscape and have deservedly rewarded Jesse with a respected reputation and a residency at the storied Rex Club in Paris.

In the studio, Heartthrob is known for his bold use of melody, slick arrangements and knack for capturing emotion and propulsive grooves with flair. Though Jesse’s hit track ‘Baby Kate’ and full length album ‘Dear Painter Paint Me’ stand out as two important releases, his more recent output has been of equally high quality, landing on both Hot Creations and his own imprint ISNISNT. Along the way he has done high-profile remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode, The Knife, Plastikman and AGF Delay. Jesse has also recorded as Vivianne Projects and as Square One with Troy Pierce.

In 2015, Jesse will further develop the ISNISNT catalog with more forward-facing house, electro and techno. With several solo releases planned for the year, which include guest remixes and artist collaborations, the label continues it’s solid development. In addition to the vinyl output on ISNISNT, the imprint will launch a digital sub-label called WASNWASNT. Siminski has also paired up with Mathew Jonson to remix Seth Troxler for Guy Gerber’s label Rumors, to be released early in 2015, and will continue to tour extensively.
